The TKC Fire Safety Initiative started in 2019. The corporation partnered with the American Red Cross in their Sound the Alarm Program. Interns from Donlin Gold and TKC joined American Red Cross volunteers and TKC staff who traveled by boat to install smoke detectors in every home in our 10 villages. TKC then partnered with the City of Aniak to provide fire extinguishers and fire safety training to residents at the Aniak Volunteer Fire Department.
The next phase is to provide every home in the TKC region with fire extinguishers. These new fire extinguishers have been making their way to our communities over the last few weeks. TKC is now reaching out to our other rural Shareholders to provide them with the same opportunity.
For our Shareholders in urban areas and those who live outside of Alaska, please contact us if you’d like to participate in our Fire Safety Initiative and receive new fire extinguishers for your home.
Requests can be made by contacting our Aniak office 1-800-478-4275 or by emailing Agnes at agnes.nicoli@kuskokwim.com.
