ABOUT US

Along the Kuskokwim River, where the vast tundra gives way to mountainous, timbered terrain, you will find 10 communities that make the Middle Kuskokwim, the original villages and home of The Kuskokwim Corporation (TKC).

With our shared history of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANSCA), and the creation of Alaska Native Village Corporations in the early 1970’s, our leaders of the time knew that we could do much greater work for our people by coming together. On April 25, 1977 Lower Kalskag, Kalskag, Aniak, Chuathbaluk, Napaimute, Crooked Creek, Georgetown, Red Devil, Sleetmute, and Stony River merged to form what we know as TKC.

Today, TKC has over 4,300 Shareholders living across the world who are deeply rooted in the values and teachings of our Yupiaq, Deg Xitan, and Dene ancestry. A confluence of culture, landscape, language, and community, TKC works to honor that ancestry by cultivating a sustainable future in which our people will thrive for generation to come.
