Talent Bank

Our purpose it to enhance our land, culture and lives of our people.

To enrich the lives of TKC shareholders and descendants, TKC provides access to training and job opportunities in our region and beyond. TKC is currently developing a workforce development plan to ensure all TKC shareholders and descendants have access to training opportunities.

TKC and its board members are working hard to ensure new windows of opportunity are available for TKC shareholders and descendants, and with the new surface use agreement with Donlin Gold. The agreement will not only allow for direct payments for TKC based on production of the mine, but also create new companies and includes provisions for TKC shareholder training and hiring. As Donlin Gold moves through the permitting process, TKC is helping to train a skilled workforce that will be ready for future jobs, both at the mine, and beyond.

We are years away from finalizing the training program, and in the meantime TKC has made it our priority to connect shareholders with existing training programs such as Job Corps, courses at the University of Alaska campuses and private training facilities throughout the state. Additionally, TKC has partnered with the EXCEL Alaska program to provide training in construction, welding and equipment operation.

To date, TKC has contributed more than $450,000 to shareholder education scholarships for both collegiate and vocational training. If you are interested in

In order to have a better understanding of the skills possessed and needed by our shareholders, TKC has created a Talent Bank. Talent Bank forms allow us to understand what types of training and vocation classes are needed in order to have a knowledgeable, skilled and prepared workforce in the YK region, subsequently increasing the number of local hires. If you have any questions, please call TKC’s Anchorage office at 1-800-478-2171.
