Training Opportunity: QuickBooks Training for Rural Alaska

The Kuskokwim Corporation (TKC) has invited Teresa Jacobsson & Karen Hartke of Alchemy Tribal Services to teach a QuickBooks Training for Rural Alaska Tuesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 4 at the Arviiq Center in Aniak, AK.

Join us to learn practical insights and gain hands-on experience in managing finances using QuickBooks as well as best practices for federal grant management. Training topics will include:

  • QuickBooks 101: Chart of Accounts
  • Backup Best Practices
  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Employee vs. Contractor: Understanding the Difference
  • Tribal Council Stipends: Myths, Mistakes, and Recommendations
  • Payroll 101: From PAN to W-2 & Payroll Module Review
  • Reconciliations and Creating Internal Controls
  • Grants & Programs: What, Why & How We Budget
  • Fraud Prevention & Audit 101
  • Group Q&A Session

While this training is designed for employees of Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, and other organizations who work to secure or manage federal funding for Native communities, it is open to everyone. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis and applicants must complete the entire application process for final acceptance into the class.
